Cast off in knit
This is the top of the lantern and you will want to put the smaller ring at this end.
Leave a long end and use to seam row ends together,
before closing or reaching the cast on edge be sure to place the large metal ring inside.
After seaming the lantern attach the large metal ring to the last row of contrast colour
dropped purl stitches
You have12 dropped purl st’s, encourage these to form a Ladder down the sides
(3 long, 3 short)) and along the top (6 long) of the lantern.
These will allow light to pass though easier if you use the lantern with solar or battery lights.
Hanging cord, using Main colour
Cast on 45st and cast off all stitches.
Attach to the lantern at the cast off edge.
I attached every 15th stitch on the cord,
4th stitch on the cast off edge.
(3 hoops)
Enjoy!
To knit on the round convert every alternate row k st to purl
and p to knit (following pattern set out)
remembering to add large metal ring during knitting.
