I have made these items to Fit Jean Greenhowe pattern Rainbow babies. I have altered the head, which I have detailed at the very bottom, and knitted them in a single skin tone wool.

Cast off leaving long end to seam.
Fold in half and sew the row ends together,continue round and sew cast on seam together, pause here to place a piece of card inside the surfboard to give it some stability. Once happy with the cardboard, sew up the cast off edge.
Shorts

Cut thread, place on a stitch holder
Second leg
Cast on 22st
Ss 6 rows starting with a k row
Join legs together
Place a marker on first st. Knit across 22st of the second leg, then continue in K across the 22st of the first leg, place a marker on the last st. 44st
Ss 7 rows starting with P row.
K1, p1, to end repeat this row 3 More times
Cast off in k.
Your shorts should look like this, at this stage.
Fold side seams to centre and sew up centre leg seams to marker.
And finally sewing down the centre seam to markers.
I weaved the end through rib stitches to give the illusion of a draw string.

Sew row ends together, then attach this seam to the turtle.
Turtle Tail
Cast on 6st
Ss 4 rows
Cut yarn leaving end long enough to thread through stitches and sew up side of row ends and attach to turtle between back legs. See picture above.
I gathered purl stitches on ‘shell’ of the turtle to create a little shape. This is optional.
Place eyes either side of head.
Duck Float/ring
Make a basic float on page two.
Duck Head
Starting at base of neck
Cast on 12

Bind off by threading wool through remaining stitches and sew row ends together. Stuff and attach to the front of the basic float.
Duck Tail
Cast on 12st

Bind off by threading wool through remaining stitches and sew row ends together.
Then sew this seam to float, making sure the cast on edge is nearest the outside of the float.
And the narrow pointy end is pointing to the centre of the float.
Beak
Cast on 8 st
Ss3 rows start with 3
Cast of all st,
Sew seam ends together and cast on stitches, attach to front of duck head
Place eyes in line with either side of the beak.
Swim Suit
starting at bottom edge
Cast on 42 place marker between 21 and 22 st.
K 2 row
Ss 10 rows starting with p. Place marker on both ends of the 10th row.
K2t, k to last 2 st, k2t
P2t, p to last 2 st, p2t
Repeat last 2 rows until you have 30st left
K2t, k to last 2 st k2t,

Repeat last 2 rows until you have 20st left

Cast off,
Sew row ends together FROM markers on 10th ss row to cast on edge, Join this seam to marker on cast on edge at stitches 21/22 weave in end.
